Pompano Beach Downtown: Inside the $2 Billion New Downtown Plan

Pompano Beach downtown is about to change more than at any point in decades. The city and master developer RocaPoint Partners are moving ahead with the New Downtown, a roughly $2 billion plan that would add homes, offices, shops and civic space a short drive from the beach.

What the New Downtown Includes

The plan covers about 4 million square feet of residential, retail, office, hotel, civic and entertainment space on roughly 70 to 75 acres along Atlantic Boulevard and Dixie Highway. It is anchored by a new City Hall and a 600-space parking garage, and reports describe a signature water feature stretching across several city blocks.

Where the Project Stands

In May 2026 the city and RocaPoint issued a request for proposals for the Phase I infrastructure contractor, covering stormwater, utilities, landscaping, irrigation and site lighting. The city has approved $64.5 million in infrastructure work, and the initial civic phase is targeted for completion by 2034.
